The pitch at the Kennington Oval has changed a lot since the start of the season this year. Earlier, the scores close to 300 were racked up easily but then the totals were decreased suddenly. The last three One-Day matches (including World Cup warm-ups) have seen the team batting first getting bowled for less than 200. Having said that, a fresh pitch is likely to be on offer for the tournament opener.
The first match of the World Cup 2019 will be between the host England who also is the favourites to win the tournament given their revolution in batting since quite a time will be up against South Africa, who are often termed as "chokers" for letting down during key fixtures and they would love to remove the tag this time.
South Africa have never won the world cup or any ICC tournament but was always on the top list of favourites. This time they enter the tournament as underdogs and it’s the time when they can remove the chokers tag.
ngland who also are host enters the World Cup 2019 with the favourite tag as they are going through a great ODI run with seven wins in their previous nine fixtures.
