Afghanistan - Get more details about the squad
Cricket has been played in Afghanistan since the mid-19th century, but it is only in recent years that the national team has become successful. Afghanistan national cricket team started their story on the rough lane leading to appealing results. It wasn't until the 1990s that cricket really took off in a country that was in persistent chaos. And couple of more decades would be required before Afghanistan cricket would flourish at international level.
Origin
Afghanistan was established in 1995, but got a final approval by Taliban in 2000. After many roadblocks, they achieved the ICC full member status in 2017.
